Presentations

Synopsis

This session will discuss why PPPs are increasingly being explored by client countries to increase and improve access to health services. Participants will learn about the opportunities, challenges, and trade offs of doing PPPs in health and learn about examples of recent successful reforms supported by the Bank and IFC.

The session will focus both on:

  • securing a favorable health policy/operating environment for PPPs in health; and
  • how to make it happen on the ground in terms of the from "here to there" - core government service to public/private mix, including the needed transaction and operation of the new public/private entity

This lunch discussion is targeted to FPD staff interested in expanding the scope of PPP programs to health, HD staff interested in role of private sector, and IFC.
