Infant and Child Health Interventions: Do They Decrease or Increase Poor-Rich Health Inequalities?

Cesar Victora, July 12, 1999

The seminar explored the proposition that health interventions would tend to increase poor-rich health inequalities, as advanced by epidemiologist Cesar Victora of the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil. The seminar program began with a presentation that laid out the proposition just described, and illustrated it through reference to three Latin American cases concerning infant and child health.
