Most of the assistance provided by the Policy Division is channeled through formal instruments that include lending and non-lending activities (grants, as well as analytical and advisory activities).  Some of these are showcased in the highlightssection of the Policy site.
1. Â Â Â Â World Bank Lending Instruments
The Bank has developed a range of lending instruments, which may be used to support activities in the telecommunications, internet, information technology, postal and broadcasting sectors.  Information on Bank ICT projects is available in the Our Projects  section as well as from the World Bank’s general website.  A generic description of the various Bank lending instruments is also available.
2. Â Â Â Â Grants administered by the World Bank
In addition to the instruments listed above, the World Bank Group administers several grant facilities that may provide financial support for projects in the ICT sector.  These include the multi-donor Information for Development Grants (infoDev) and Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF ) programs, bilateral trust funds, as well as the Bank’s own Institutional Development Fund  (IDF) .
3. Â Â Â Â Analytical and advisory work (AAA)
Direct advisory support may also be provided to client countries on the Bank’s own resources, as is the case for Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSP) and some country-level ICT strategy notes.  Finally, the Bank also provides direct technical assistance to member countries on a reimbursable basis.
