Program Description
According to a recent Bank-wide study, around 73% of the active project portfolio of the Bank (1,039 operations) contains ICT components valued at $7.7billion. In late 2006, QAG conducted a first of its kind review to examine the quality-at-entry and the quality of supervision of ICT components included in Bank funded projects. While limited in scope and experimental nature, finding of this study shed much light on needed improvements both in the design of ICT components and of related objectives, quality standards, resources and procedures of the Bank. This seminar explains the objectives, limitations, finding and recommendations of the study and provides a forum for discussion of the broader institutional and technical challenges facing the Bank in this area.
Amnon Golan, the Study Director, will explain the scope, limitations, and methodology of the study. Technical moderator Eduardo Talero will reflect on findings of the study and related operational implications. Amnon Golan will close the presentation with the conclusions and recommendations of the study. GICT Manager Philippe Dongier will then comment on institutional response and open the session for discussion.
