Program Description There is increasing attention in developing countries to Accessible ICT, driven by both domestic and international regulations as well as local demand. The Convention on the Right of Persons with Disabilities, signed by 136 Countries, explicitly foresees in several articles principles of “accessibility” as well as of “international cooperation”. This workshop is intended to present current international trends and available standards relevant to the WB, as well as a brief on relevant Convention’s principles and some good practices in the WB operations. All workshop materials will be available at:http://www.worldbank.org/disability and http://www.worldbank.org/edevelopment Participants from outside the Bank will need a building pass for this seminar to attend in person in Washington DC so please RSVP to KPeffley@worldbank.org. |
