This global event will connect specialists and practitioners from countries across four regions to share the latest World Bank study on the use of mobile applications for the health sector and the agriculture and rural development sector. A 90-minute session is scheduled for each sector. In each session, the Bank study team will give a 30-minute presentation to: (1) Summarize trends in mobile services and applications for development in the sector. (2) Provide case studies of how m-applications are being used to improve sector specific outcomes in developing countries. (3) Identify and analyze innovative business and implementation models for scaling up and replication. A discussion will follow to exchange ideas with country participants. Questions include: How and why are you (or are you not) using m-applications in your projects? Are you seeing benefits on the ground? Have you observed additional barriers and risks to scale and replication?  What is required to address these constraints? How can incentives among the various players in the mobile "ecosystem" be optimized to develop viable m-applications. What do you see as the role of the public sector (e.g. policy makers, sector ministries, telecom regulators, etc.)? What are the basic enablers? What role can the WBG play to support our client countries (e.g. establishing a support fund? knowledge transfer of successful cases across borders/regions? etc) Adobe connect webinar session (live chat) Agenda
