The Indian Software & BPO Industry is expected to reach significant milestones this year -- $100B in revenue; 2.8 million in employment (direct), and 8.9 million (indirect).  NASSCOM just completed its Strategic Review 2012, which indicates trends, patterns and lessons learned of interest to WBG and its clients.  The Indian IT/BPO industry is establishing a global delivery model that currently encompasses over 560 centers in 70 countries across the world.  India now accounts for a market share of 58% in the global sourcing landscape.

This workshop is of direct relevance to Bank staff working on the development of the IT/BPO sectors in the context of country competitiveness.  NASSCOM's experience in growing the Indian/IT/BPO Industry is of immediate relevance to a large number of developing countries that are aspiring to benefit from the opportunities that the sector presents.
