E-Government learning programs are organized by the e-Development Thematic Group, a community of professionals working in (or with) the World Bank on issues involving new Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs) and their use for improving government service delivery, efficiency, transparency and accountability. The activities of the Thematic Group include periodic Brown Bag Lunches and Videoconferences, other informal discussions at the World Bank, as well as mutual support through frequent requests for information and advice. Members of the Thematic Group are helping to define a strategic approach for expanding the role of the World Bank in support of e-government initiatives in developing countries.
