Partnerships are integral to the operation of the Justice for the Poor program. Collaboration with local partners is critical in ensuring that justice reform and legal empowerment programs are relevant, legitimate and implemented effectively. Collaboration with government, civil society, donor organizations and institutions enhances the expertise that can be brought to the program and enables a cross-sectoral approach to justice issues. Justice for the Poor works together with partners to conduct research, develop policy, provide advice, and fund activities.
To mainstream justice in development, Justice for the Poor also works in partnership with a range of project teams across the World Bank Group, including the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Network, the Social Development Department, the Development Research Group and the International Finance Corporation. Justice for the Poor supports these teams to address justice and conflict management issues in the design, implementation and assessment of their work.
