Justice for the Poor in Action

Justice for the Poor is a World Bank global analytical and operational program aimed at informing, designing and supporting pro-poor approaches to justice reform. Justice for the Poor is an approach to justice reform which sees justice from the perspective of the poor and marginalized, is grounded in social and cultural contexts, recognizes the importance of demand in building equitable justice systems, and understands justice as a cross-sectoral issue.

Get some quick glimpses of the J4P approach in action:

  • Indonesia: Access to Justice and Improved Development Outcomes for Women
  • Solomon Islands: Justice Delivered Locally
  • Timor-Leste: Promoting Equitable Engagements on Land
  • Vanuatu: Action Research for more Equitable Land Governance

The above three case studies were selected from the wider portfolio of Justice for the Poor work to highlight the programs methodology, areas of concern, and impacts. For more information about J4P in each of the countries it works, please visit our Country Programs page.
