Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms are common components of legal and judicial reform projects. From mediation and conciliation, in which a third party presents a non-binding solution to a dispute, to arbitration, in which disputants are contractually bound to abide by a third party's decision, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms can shorten the time needed to resolve disputes, lower litigation costs, and alleviate slow or overburdened courts.
