Our objective is to facilitate the extractive industries’ contribution to poverty alleviation and economic growth through the promotion of good governance and sustainable development.

We are the World Bank´s global sector unit on extractive industries working on issues of governance and sustainable natural resource management across the main regions of the world. As the Sustainable Energy, Oil, Gas, and Mining unit (SEGOM), we are part of the World Bank’s Sustainable Development Network.
