The Global Gas Flaring Reduction Public-Private Partnership was launched at the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). The aim of the Partnership is to support national governments, development agencies, and the petroleum industry in their efforts to reduce the environmentally damaging flaring and venting of gas associated with the extraction of crude oil.
