Capacity Building in Algeria

The workshop was the final technical assistance event under which GGFR has been supporting Sonatrach to develop knowledge and capacity related to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), with a particular focus on upstream gas flaring reduction opportunities. The aim of this workshop was to cover issues such as: (i) status and way forward of the demo project; (ii) status of flaring reduction opportunities and CDM; (iii) CDM strategy for Sonatrach; (iv) legal issues related to the Designated National Entity (DNA); and (v) carbon credits contracts.
