Poverty Headcount

The percentage of the population below the poverty line. It is the most commonly used poverty indicator. However, it does not tell us how far the poor are below the poverty line.

Gini Index of Inequality

It ranges from 0 to 1 and measures inequality. 0 represents perfect equality: every individual having the same amount of income. Most of the consumption Gini indexes range from 0.3 to 0.6.
