In this presentation, famed investment manager and economist Mohamed El-Erian focuses on some key global economic challenges facing current and future generations. The inability of advanced countries to come to grips with three big issues -- too little growth, too much debt in the wrong places, and too dysfunctional a political process -- is also pushing emerging countries further away from first best policies, he says. A growing dispersion and lack of alignment among domestic and international actors is further exacerbating global problems. A mix of behavioral and game-theory analyses can nevertheless shed important light on the challenges ahead, on how and when to best respond.
