The Empowerment Case Studies are intended as a resource providing brief, detailed descriptions of successful programs, policies, projects and activities resulting in the empowerment of poor people. The case studies analyze these examples using the framework set out in Empowerment and Poverty Reduction: A Sourcebook, detailing how the four key elements of information, inclusion/participation, accountability, and local organizational capacity, play a role in empowering outcomes.
