Job Generation and Growth (JoGGs) Decomposition Tool

The Job Generation and Growth Decomposition toolJoGGs decomposition tool — is an Excel-based macro-spreadsheet, that allows users to easily decompose growth in GDP per capita in two consecutive periods, in its employment, productivity and demographic components, both at the aggregate and sectoral level.

It is a useful tool for analyzing how employment generation and productivity growth help determine the effectiveness of growth in reducing poverty. It helps answer questions such as: i) how is growth reflected in employment generation and in changes in output per worker, ii) how is growth reflected in the sectoral pattern of growth and employment generation, iii) what are the sources of changes in output per worker (capital, labor relocation or TFP growth), among others.

To use the tool, download it into your computer and open it. You can then save it with a custom name as an Excel file.
