Migration and Development

Migration and Development
Poverty Reduction Group

Migration and Development
Migration and remittances have increasingly been a major development issue representing both opportunities and risks for reducing poverty and enhancing shared growth in developing countries. The World Bank is actively engaged in strengthening the understanding of the linkages between migration and development and in bringing that knowledge to the operational policy dialogue. The migration program in the Poverty Reduction Group facilitates the analytical and operational activities on migration with emphasis on shared growth and poverty reduction issues. This website provides development practitioners with links to data sources, methodological notes and analytical products that can enhance the understanding of migration issues and strengthen the necessary policy dialogue.Bullet squareMore
