Presenter: Erwin H. R. Tiongson (ECSPE) and Elena Bardasi (AFTPM)
The purpose of this seminar is to provide guidelines for the examination of the impact of education reforms on poverty and welfare. The presentation will draw from country case studies and recent findings from the empirical literature on education policy to identify some of the poverty and social impacts of education reforms, the principal transmission channels through which stakeholders are affected by or affect the reforms, and the standard tools for poverty and social impact analysis in education. In addition, the case study of Mozambique will be presented with greater detail.
