October 16-17, 2000

A workshop on Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) issues in the HIPC and PRSP process was held on October 16-17, 2000 in Washington, DC. This training session aimed to take stock of the existing experience, share lessons learned, get better acquainted with the various instruments recently developed (including rapid guidelines for I PRSP), and discuss necessary improvements in the processes and suggest practical next steps for better working together this fiscal year. The health and poverty group in WHO and other partners such as UNICEF and UNFPA joined the training session to start building common understanding and discuss future collaboration, particularly regarding capacity building in the countries.
