Indonesia, a large decentralized country, has recently completed a PRSP process. The national government has encouraged local governments to provide input in the process by piloting local PRSPs in partnership with district stakeholders. This presentation provides an example of a Bank project "Initiatives for Local Governance Reform", which assisted 15 regional governments in implementing a local PRSP process and linking it to reforms in local regulations, budget planning and increased pro-poor budget allocations. The presentation focused on some of the lessons learned from this approach that may be applicable in other contexts.
