Description: Although not a new phenomenon, aid predictability is becoming an increasingly important issue in the aid effectiveness agenda, as the costs of volatility are becoming increasingly clearer and more evident with more aid being channeled via program aid. Based on the experience in Tanzania and Ghana, the session will describe how to better manage aid volatility at the country level and present a few ideas on what donors can do in terms of changing their aid allocation mechanisms to promote long-term predictability of aid.
