The World Bank has the leading edge knowledge and substantial global experience to assist in the development/modernization of treasury systems and establishment of integrated public financial management frameworks. Since 1984, the Bank has assisted 54 countries (including 6 APEC countries) in the design and implementation of Treasury and Financial Management Information System (FMIS) solutions for country specific Public Financial Management (PFM) reform needs. In particular, the World Bank has financed 93 projects (60 completed + 33 active) totaling over US $2.4 billion (as of January 2012). Actually, the total amount spent/allocated funds for Treasury/FMIS (T/F) projects is around $3.6 billion, including the borrower co-financing and other donor funds, and nearly $1 billion of this amount has been spent for FMIS related Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions.

FMIS Community of Practice (CoP)
was established in September 2010, as a platform for exchanging information, good practices and experiences gained in the design and implementation of FMIS solutions. FMIS CoP is also focused on the development and dissemination of leading edge knowledge products, as well as the creation of a discussion platform to assist in improving the quality and performance of ongoing activities.
