The World Bank is supporting another APEC Russia 2012 event to be held in Bogor, Indonesia (Nov 2012) focused on the Modernization of Treasury/FMIS in APEC economies
In response the request from the Russian Government, the World Bank assisted in the organization of a workshop on FMIS in Kazan from March 25-27, 2012, to facilitate the discussions on the current status of Treasury/FMIS modernization activities in APEC countries, cash management practices, and share the Bank’s knowledge on trends in the implementation of next generation FMIS solutions. An online survey was prepared to clarify the current status of Treasury/FMIS solutions in APEC countries, and the results of this survey were presented during the workshop. The Russian Federal Treasury published the presentations and conclusions of the workshop as a report and summarized the outcomes in APEC Russia 2012 web site.
The Bank is also supporting the organization of a follow on APEC event in Bogor, Indonesia in November 2012. The agenda of the workshop will cover three main topics: (i) asset and liability management; (ii) challenges in transition to integrated FMIS solutions; and (iii) signing a Multilateral Technical Cooperation Framework Agreement with interested economies. The Bank will be sharing the initial findings of a new study (assessing the impact of FMIS on fiscal transparency), as well as the FMIS World Map-Beta version, during this workshop.
