The Joint UNDP-World Bank Project on country-led Poverty and Social Impact Analysis (PSIA) seeks to raise awareness and strengthen the capacity of developing country governments to conduct PSIA and utilize its results for national policy making processes. To promote this objective, the project provides funding for government-led PSIA work, supplemented by training and awareness-raising activities. Additionally, the project seeks to improve cooperation between UNDP and the World Bank on the country-level.
Founded in 2004, the project has received a funding envelope of US$3million over four years from the Belgian Development Cooperation. These resources support funding requests directly from national governments, who design and implement the PSIA process. UNDP and the World Bank have to agree to support the effort and provide technical assistance to the government teams.  To date, the project has supported government-led PSIA work in eleven countries:   |
