There are a number of World Bank operational policies that deal specifically with social development concerns. These include the social safeguard policies, aimed at minimizing the negative impact of Bank-funded operations on vulnerable groups (displaced populations and indigenous peoples). The Conflict and Development policy provides guidance on Bank assistance to conflict affected countries. The Gender policy provides guidance on Bank assistance to member countries in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance economic growth and human well-being by addressing gender disparities and inequalities. For more information on the Bank's operational policies, refer to the World Bank Operational Manual.
