Social Development teams work in each of the five regions where the Bank has programs: Africa, East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa and South Asia. Social Development staff typically work across all sectors, providing guidance on the incorporation of social development considerations in the Bank's lending and non-lending programs and providing technical support to ensure social safeguard compliance of Bank-financed operations. Social development staff also facilitate civil society participation in development processes and may also manage projects, typically Community Driven Development (CDD) projects.
