The workshop was geared towards Bank task teams and project staff working on community-driven development (CDD) operations or implementing projects in disaster prone countries. The workshop program included guidance on integrating disaster risk management strategies into Bank-funded social fund and CDD operations, focusing on community engagement in preparedness planning, emergency response and recovery and reconstruction planning. A new toolkit on "Natural Disaster Management – Improving Readiness of Social Fund/CDD Operations in Managing Response to Natural Disasters" was presented, in addition to country case studies which highlighted operational responses to natural disasters.
