Director(s): Cara Augustenborg Film Categories: Indigenous People Country: USA Synopsis:
This film explores the effect of climate change on the indigenous Eskimos of Barrow, Alaska through interviews with visitors and residents of the area. The Inupiat people practice subsistence living and depend on summer sea ice to hunt their food. As the changing climate causes sea ice to thin and melt, the Inupiat hunters put their lives in greater danger to hunt food for their people. The experience of the Inupiat people illustrates the effect of climate change on people around the globe, including those in the United States of America.
