East Asia & Pacific: Partnership with community-based organizations and NGOs is important in achieving development objectives in the region.
Europe and Central Asia: The CDD strategy in ECA suggests an approach to scaling up of CDD programs, taking into account the specificity of the region, in particular, the historical legacy of the command economy resulting in many fragile democratic systems and weak institutions.
Latin American and the Carribean: LAC will continue to focus on participatory planning and scaling up CDD activities, both within the Bank's own portfolio and by encouraging clients to extend CDD methodologies to government-financed programs.
Middle East and North Africa: In MENA, CDD applies where local community participation is the underlying instrument to achieve development goals and promote local ownership.
South Asia : Decentralization, which provides the major vehicle for CDD, is a central feature in most SAR Country CASs. CDD is a clear priority in policy dialogue, lending and AAA in each country.
