This section provides resources on key work program areas within CDD:
Decentralization and Local Governance: By incorporating local governments in the CDD approach, CDD projects can achieve scale and sustainability, while improving systems of local governance by building downward accountability towards citizens.
Community Driven Development in Conflict Affected Areas: CDD projects are often the first off the ground in post conflict countries, and help address urgent community needs and to serve as a catalyst for building trust.
Community Foundations: Community Foundations are independent philanthropic organizations that serve a geographically defined community. Community Foundations apply a variety of creative approaches to support citizen-led development efforts, and sustain community dynamism.
Scaling Up: Scaling up CDD programs is a multi-dimensional process to broaden and deepen the impact of CDD across the five pillars of: (i) empowering communities; (ii) empowering local governments; (iii) decentralization and realigning the center; (iv) improving accountability; and (v) building capacity.
