Citizen Engagement for Enhanced Accountability in Africa

The World Bank’s Participation and Civic Engagement group held a three-day conference on Citizen Engagement for Enhanced Accountability in Africa on May 3-5, 2005, in Accra, Ghana. The conference was intended to promote social accountability in African public management by providing practitioners and decision makers an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of social accountability practices and to collectively develop strategies to expand, deepen, and improve social accountability in Africa.
