| One of the first steps the World Bank has taken to make certain that children and youth with disabilities are heard is the work it is doing to ensure the participation of youth with disabilities in different Bank activities, such as the Global Conference on Scaling Up Poverty Reduction held in Shanghai, China (May 25 - 27, 2004) and the Youth, Development and Peace (YDP 2004) conference held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (September 5 - 7, 2004). As a part of the World Bank International Conference on Disability and Inclusive Development, held in Washington (November 30 - December 1, 2004) youth with disability issues were considered in a roundtable entitled, "Integrating Youth with Disabilities Issues in the Development of National Policies." As a preliminary activity for this roundtable, a videoconference was held with the participation of Yemen and Macedonia.
