Environmental conditions have major effects on the health, opportunity, and security of poor people. Environmental activities can also provide effective ways to empower the poor. There are many links between environmental management and poverty alleviation. The issue is thus vital in preventing primary or secondary disabilities, and in empowering poor people with and without disabilities.
