The objective of the Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) “Labor Markets, Job Creation, and Economic Growth, Scaling up Research, Capacity Building, and Action on the Ground” is to promote effective policy-making in the area of job creation in developing countries. To accomplish this objective, the trust fund takes a three-pronged approach:

Supporting cutting-edge research by the global academic and research community on key policy issues related to the creation of more and better jobs, as well as the reduction of inequality and social exclusion.

Building the capacity of developing country’s policy-makers and researchers on labor market analysis, evaluation techniques, and good practices in labor market policy.

Catalyzing country-level activities aimed at the analysis of local labor market conditions and piloting of promising approaches.
The MDTF is World Bank-executed. For the research component, the World Bank is currently soliciting proposals from firms (including universities and research institutions) and/or individual researchers on the topic of:
“Migration and Labor Market Outcomes in Sending and ‘Southern’ Receiving Countries”
