Program Profile

Objectives

  • contribute to reduction in extreme poverty and increase of human and social capital of beneficiary families

Conditionalities

  • education: attendance of educational centers (early stimulation) for children 25-60 months, attendance of basic schooling for children 5-14 years
  • health: visits to health center for growth/development monitoring for children 0-24 months, for growth monitoring for children 25-60 months, and for medical check-ups and preventative dental care for children 5-14 years. Visits to health center for pregnancy check-ups and post-partum control for pregnant and lactating women

Transfer size

  • food bonus: US$10
  • health and education bonus: US$5 per child aged 0-14 years old, up to 4 children per household. Minimum amount: US$15 (family with one child); maximum amount: US$30 (family having 4 or more children)

Frequency of transfer

  • monthly

Target population

  • families with children aged 0-14 and pregnant women in extreme poverty
Covered population
  • Tekoporâ Program: 3,500 beneficiary families
  • Ñopytyvo Program: 500 beneficiary families
  • Abrazo Program: 1,350 street working children and their families

  • US$1,772,050 for fiscal year 2006
