Lithuania: Workshop on Establishing Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the Transport Sector Vilnius, June 30, 2005 The Workshop, hosted by the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) and the World Bank, provided an overview on the role and contribution of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in transport infrastructure, with a special focus on highways, railways, ports, and airports. The objective of the event was to expand the participants’ knowledge about the roles of the public and private sectors, PPP schemes, advantages and disadvantages, success factors for PPP implementation, and identify opportunities for PPP projects in the transport sector in Lithuania.
