Walter Kulyk

Walter Kulyk is Director, Office of Mobility Innovation, Federal Transit Administration.  He has over 25 years experience in managing federal research, demonstration, and technical assistance programs involving transit system implementations and operations.  He is currently in charge of transit research and demonstration programs involving Bus Operations and Electric Drive Propulsion Subsystems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) including those affecting rail, Bus Rapid Transit Services, and Maglev.  Mr. Kulyk is a registered Professional Engineer and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering.  He is Chair of the Public Transport Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Chair of the ITS Experts Group of APEC.  He is also actively involved in a number of other committees with national organizations including the American Public Transportation Association, ITS America, and the U.S. Academy of Sciences Transportation Research Board.
