Paul Amos

Transport Adviser, Energy, Transport and Water Department, World Bank

Paul Amos is an economist by training and spent the earlier part of his career as a Transport and Management Consultant based in Australia and the United Kingdom. From 1984 to 1993, he was Managing Director of Travers Morgan Pty and later Director on the Group Board based in London. In these roles, he carried out or directed numerous policy, regulatory, management and project studies covering all modes of transport.

In 1993, he became Principal of Booz Allen & Hamilton's European transport management and technology consulting practice. Later he joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with responsibility for the EBRD's railway sector lending. He joined the World Bank in 2003 as Transport Adviser based in Washington and is currently advising both on transport policy issues in the World Bank and on active assignments in China, Pakistan, Poland, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Southeastern Europe.
