DESCRIPTION Join us as we review and discuss the latest World Bank transport sector experience with HIV/AIDS prevention. The transport sector has been pro-actively mainstreaming HIV mitigation measures for over a decade by assisting client governments in designing and implementing sector-level interventions. The transport sector is now accelerating or strengthening its AIDS operations and analytical work in all regions of the Bank. The event will include presentations on HIV/AIDS activities in four regions and the review of the application of the HIV/AIDS contract clauses, a requirement under the Health and Safety provisions of the Bank standard bidding documents to carry out an HIV/AIDS awareness program to reduce the risk of HIV transmission between and among the contractor personnel and the local community.
