Asian Community of Practice on Rural Roads to be Launched

At the 2nd gTKP International Meeting on Rural Transport in Jinan China in November 2010, the World Bank proposed that an Asian Community of Practice be set up to take forward innovation and knowledge sharing through a managed network. The Chinese and Indian Government representatives agreed in principle to co-chair the group. The Indian Ministry of Rural Roads will host a multi-stakeholder meeting to discuss setting-up the Asian Community of Practice on Rural Transport and Access. This meeting will be held as part of the 6th IRF Conference on Road Safety held in New Delhi on October 5, 2011.
