Second Joint Initiative Video Conference, April 30, 2008

Red Ribbon HIV

A second video conference was convened to further discuss issues concerning mainstreaming HIV/AIDS and to explore opportunities for collaboration in the relevant sectors.  The discussion focused specifically on the issues of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and how these can be best designed and implemented.  Examples were drawn from projects in the Asia region.

Designing and implementing effective M & E programs are paramount to measuring the level of success of the interventions as well as to providing guidance for future effort in the finght against HIV/AIDS.  ADB, JBIC and the World Bank, having made considerable progress in mainstreaming HIV/AIDS in the region in recent years, shared their experience on M & E among other issues.  DFID, KfW and AfDB also discussed their experience on this important aspect of HIV mitigation activities.
