PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The original project has three development objectives: (i) Taiz local government develops its capacity to carry out a major part of their responsibilities under the country’s new Local Authorities Law; (ii) to protect city residents, businesses and infrastructure from seasonal destructive flash flooding; and (iii) initiate support for Yemen’s decentralization program. All of these objectives would remain valid under the additional financing.
