This session featured several approaches to addressing some of the key challenges in slums and slum upgrading through project case studies.  The cases included Lagos, Nigeria; Brazil; South Africa; Angola; and Bangladesh.  There was also a presentation on crime and violence in slums and how this is being addressed in current projects.

Objective

This learning event was aimed at those working in slums.  The objective was for practitioners to learn from some current approaches and share their own experiences in working with slums.
