WBI - Metropolitan Management Challenges in China
This report presents the key findings from the first phase of the policy dialogue program on the subject of Metropolitan Management in China. The objective of the initial activities under this program was to take stock of key metropolitan management challenges in China and identify opportunities for enhancing the related current practices.Â
Perspectives on Metropolitan Management: A Dialogue between Academics and Practitioners
The key objective of this roundtable discussion, held May 17, 2007, was to identify emerging issues and key policy questions related to metropolitan management in areas related to interjurisdictional service delivery, urban planning, fiscal policy and economic development.Â

Cities Alliance: City Development Strategy Activities by Country
The Cities Alliance supports cities in preparing city development strategies that link their economic growth and poverty reduction objectives, often including citywide slum upgrading strategies. Since its launch in 1999, the Alliance has committed $60 million, linked to over $6 billion in investments. To date, Alliance activities have involved 160 cities worldwide.
