Selected Program Options

 

Slum (India)Programs targeted at addressing urban poverty are wide ranging and may be categorized into roughly three areas.

 

Sector-based program examples target urban poverty within the context of specific sectors such as integrated urban development/slum upgrading and housing.

 

Policy-based program example takes a cross-sectoral approach to issues such as tenure regularization policies.

Finance-based program examples use instruments such as municipal development funds, social development funds and microfinance to target resources at the urban poor.
