Networks of Cities Addressing Climate Change

Many cities are already at the forefront in mitigating and adapting to climate change, with sub-national efforts and local action by communities proceeding even as the complex global climate change negotiations continue. This momentum among cities is reflected by the growing networks and initiatives on climate change for cities and local governments. These represent useful channels through which cities learn from one another, adapting lessons and practices which have worked well in one place to the specific needs and circumstances of another.
