In many of the World Bank’s client countries, capacity building is as important as finance for achieving progress in the water sectors. The Bank’s support to countries follows a learning-by-doing approach that combines capacity building with investments and with technical assistance for institutional reforms. Drawing on its cross-country experience and the findings of analytical studies, the Bank provides learning events for decision makers (many are videotaped for further dissemination).

The materials are targeted at policymakers, government officials, service providers, World Bank staff, development experts, donor representatives, academics, nongovernmental organizations, and others. They typically include annotated slideshows, lecture notes, and handouts; some include exercises, videos of speakers, and other tools. Available learning modules include: |
