Water Week 2007 (February 27 - March 2, 2007) took place in Washington, DC at the World Bank headquarters. As in years past, the four-day event brought together the Bank water community, as well as invited external stakeholders, including clients, donor organizations, NGOs, and private sector representatives.
The theme of 2007 Water Week was Water Futures: Sustainability and Growth. This year, participants were challenged to think "outside the water vessel", to build on the integrating theme of the Bank’s newly established Sustainable Development Network, and explore the challenges and options for good water management and improved water services well into the future. Topics with implications than beyond the water sector were addressed during the first three days of the program (February 27 – March 1), while the fourth day was devoted to sector and thematic issues. In addition to opening and closing plenary sessions, the first three days were structured around five themes. Sanitation, Health and Environment Access to Water Water Governance and Institutions Variability and Climate Change Complex and Innovative Approaches Water Week session schedule information can be found in the Agenda.
